There really is nothing that I can say other then why the hell have these fools not begun work on the movie? My God, talk about a summer blockbuster from hell.

In an interview with Gamasutra.com, NinjaBee’s Brent Fox talks about the new WiiWare title. I can’t remember a time when Utah game developers were in the media as much as they have been over the past few weeks. I’m glad its happening now and to a great group of guys. BottleRocket Entertainment, a seven year old development studio, has closed its doors. The studio had been trying to salvage a poor financial situation after projects from publishers Namco and Brash Entertainment fell through. I love hip-hop. It’s as much a part of me as games and film. I’ve got passion for the hype shit that gets you ready to conquer the world. Jay Z has come back to legendary form. In my opinion his last two albums were pretty weak, definitely not up to snuff for a Hip-Hop king like J. His two singles “DOA” and “Run this Town” are a powerful return to form. Not only is the song bad ass but the video’s so sick it inspired me to write a game design inspired by it. Giving props to the ROC NATION.

Now this is some renewable energy ish I can get behind. None of that hippy, save the world shit…just got old fashion technology, space travel, and energy beams. God I love Japan! From the beautiful Japanese women, crazy ass cartoons, their engrained fear of mushroom clouds, and neat little gadgets, they are one country that kicks major ass!

Japan is looking to spend $21 Billion on an orbiting power plant in space that will turn solar power into microwaves to beam back to earth based receiving stations as usable energy. Enough to power nearly 300K homes. The US government should take notes on how to properly spend public funds. Check out the article here

Legendary Pictures, the company behind such amazing films as 300, Batman Begins, the Dark Knight, Superman Returns, and 10,000BC, has begun pre-production on the WarCraft live action movie. In any other hands I’d write this one off to the scrap heap but I’ve got nothing but love for Legendary Pictures because they are the truth. I don’t hold them responsible for “Watchmen”. NinjaBee is calling its new title the spiritual successor to “Cloning Clyde”. No release date has been set for “Ancients of Ooga.” Check out the official announcement on NinjaBee’s blog here.

“Doritos is to team up with Microsoft to once again offer aspiring game designers the chance to have their ideas made into an Xbox Live Arcade game.

The contest, which began in 2007, comes with a grand prize of USD 50,000 and also gives its winner a game consultancy position with Doritos as well as the chance to see their idea made into a full XBLA downloadable game.”

Last years game was developed by local studio Wahoo Studios.

Shadow Complex is killing it. The game has been both a critical and commercial success. The game is Chair’s second Live game, the first being the 2007 release of “Undertow.” Though its only speculation, its been suggested that the massive success of this game may lead to the expansion of Chair Entertainment’s offices in Utah. Talented, stunningly beautiful, and a gamer…marriage proposal anyone? Jade Raymond (She’s even got a beautiful name) has been selected to oversee the new Toronto office of Ubisoft. There are not too many well known female designers or producers in the industry. Most of them that are known are known more for their physical body rather then their body of work. With the success of Assassin’s Creed and the faith of Ubisoft executives, I think it’s fair to say we have a rising star that will known for both. Check out the Kotaku post here.
